We have developed Orton-Gillingham programs for staff development of general education educators, tutors, as well as paraprofessional educators. In addition we offer training programs for reading and special education teachers. IMSE is currently recognized for the high quality of our reading workshops, inservice sessions, staff development programs, as well as curriculum development. We now offer an Orton-Gillingham training program for parent groups, which has become very popular in this country. IMSE offers an Orton-Gillingham phonics multi-sensory program called "Sensational Strategies for Teaching Beginning Readers." Parents are using our program to work with their children who are struggling learning to read.
Title I funds are available for teacher staff development programs such as our teacher development programs. The Inst. for Multi-Sensory Ed. offers highly structured, phonics based, and multi-sensory Orton-Gillingham teacher development workshops for the general classroom teacher as well as tutors and paraprofessionals. These programs are aimed at early intervention. IMSE wants to lower the number of children who are struggling with reading, spelling, and writing when they are ready to enter the 3rd grade. The Institutes teacher development trainings are custom designed for the needs of each teacher. IMSE's Orton-Gillingham is best suited for remediation of at risk students who have fallen behind or who have learning disabilities, dyslexia,or other problems preventing their learning to read. The Institute for Multi-Sensory Education's Orton-Gillingham methodology can be easily added to your current reading curriculum.
